disc tray on Xbox 360 is stuck open
I dropped a cell phone on the disc tray of my Xbox 360 when it was open. Now the tray won't close and makes a clicking noise. How can I fix this?

You have to take the console apart, remove the drive and take that apart. Take the tray out and realign. Pay attention to how the mechanism works before you mess with it.
To take the tray out you will have to squeeze it from the sides to unhinge it from it's plastic guide rails. When you get to putting it back in, slot one side in first (i slot the side in with the teeth for the gears first) followed by the other side.
If you aren't confident, take it to a repair shop. They should be able to fix it for you. THIS is a video of a 360 slim tray realign, the phat consoles are pretty similar.
Microsoft support will not help as they don't tell you how to dismantle the console or components.

Sometimes the drive belt can get worn down or dirty. I've found that is typically the issue when the disc drive is having problems.
