Unable to get the back screws off.

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone has some suggestions in getting the back screws off the 3ds XL. I followed the guide and even bought the required/recommend tools from this site and it seems that the head type 000 is too small to catch and just spins around. I have tried using the next size up and I was able to get two of the screws outs. As for the reset of the screws they do not seem to be moving at all. I know I have thread at least one screw so I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions as to what I could do next?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I'd say that your best bet is to just strip it open/drill in/rip it out. You can't replace these screws and set back plate is a locking piece so nobody'll see your a dirty thief who takes ownership of your devices XD (I can't believe people are suing users for self repairing their tech!)

I know this reply is 8 years late, but in case anyone else has this problem, I just wanted to say that those screws are weird. I tried ten, TEN different screwdrivers, all of them claiming to be 00 or 000, before one of them worked. I noticed that, on the one that worked, the metal strips making up the X shape of the head was thinner in width than the others of the same size.

So, to anyone struggling with those screws, it’s worth a try to mess around with different screwdrivers until you get lucky!
