No picture, vertical lines

I have a 60 inch LED, model # UN60ES8000F XCZ

I have no picture and a color screen with vertical lines. The tv goes off and tries to turn on again. I've unplugged and let it sit for awhile , the picture comes back for a bit then the vertical lines then it shuts off and tries to start, sometimes it gets to the log on screen ten shuts off, then tries to start up again. Any recommendations?

thanks

@prairiedog as @absrvc already pointed out it will help if you can post some pictures of what your screen dispalys and what the boards look like. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that. I would not suspect a T-con board error to cause this behavior "tv goes off and tries to turn on again" sounds like a main board or power board issue

@prairiedog sounds like a great idea:-). Take care of the hip first. The question will wait. Speedy recovery and all the best to you.

This sounds like a problem with either the T-con board or the main board. Since it works for a while, I would suspect a heat related problem. It is also possible that the power supply board is defective and creating the problem. Can you post pictures of each of the boards?

@prairiedog  since it displayed okay until you connected some video source, I would replace the main board. Of course you need to try all the video source inputs and see if they all display the same thing. It does not look like a t-con board error. The main board is the one that has all the video connections on it. Your first picture would be it

Thanks, I'll check all the video coonections. There are 2 part number stickers, which is the one I use. I couldn't find a replacement part for either of those part numbers.

Just for the record teh Samsung part number for this board is BN94-05584M and the board numbers are BN41-01800B, BN97-06531Z a substitute part is BN94-05566C

It is available at places like this http://www.samsungparts.com/Cart.aspx?Ac... as well as on here https://www.tvserviceparts.com/Samsung-B... incredibly expensive.

There are services out there that will rebuild your main board which might be a more economical way to go.
