Spin Cycle Crazy banging acts highly unbalanced

My Kenmore 100 series runs fine except for spin. If it is empty it runs okay. If I add one sock (not exaggerating) it bucks like a bronco, jumps all over knocks holes in the wall, tries to tear out hoses, and sounds like a rhino is ramming a Humvee over and over. I checked the belt, pulley, motor, and the four shock absorbers. I installed 4 springs to the shock absorbers as someone else suggested this (there is a spot for the springs apparently some models did not come with them installed.) It acts crazy, it jumps off the ground, I can barely get to the shutoff switch and sometimes have to just pull the plug. What could the problem be?

The wash load is perfectly distributed and balanced. It sits perfectly level on all four legs.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi,

What is the model number of the washer?

Depending on the model a rotary position sensor is used to make sure that the load stays balanced during the wash cycle.

Use the website linked to find your model and then check if your model has one and if it has first check that the connection to the sensor is still OK.

The Repair Clinic website has a whole page dedicated to what could cause your washer to shake or vibrate.

Kenmore Washer Vibrating Or Shaking - Solutions & Repair Parts - Repair Clinic

Based on their suggestions, I'd try rotating the inner tub by hand to see if it's related to a bad transmission or a damaged inner tub. Apparently your washer has something called a balance ring that's supposed to be filled with fluid to balance the tub, so you're supposed to verify that it still contains fluid.

Those are the main things that stuck out for me, but you can certainly look through them yourself and see if anything else may be a possibility.

Hi @warrenfryejr

With your model it could either be a problem with the suspension springs or perhaps the tub spring or both types.

The supplier links above are only there because they have videos that show how to remove/replace the parts. If they need replacing, search online for the manufacturer's part number for each part shown in the links to find suppliers that suit you best
