smoke while laptop was turned off.

So i was changing my nvme drive and suddenly the laptop released some smoke, the laptop was turned off. Right now the laptop works but only with an external display. Any ideia what might have happen and if it is solvable?

@gon58724 we need to know the exact make and model of this laptop. Like @markusnorstroem already said, you most likely damaged the video circuitry. That leads us to assume it's a motherboard issue. Now it's up to you to help us to help you. Make , model and a couple of good pictures of your motherboard are needed to assist you further. Could be a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H but we are not going to guess on that :-)

Did you disconnect the battery from the motherboard, before commencing any further work inside the laptop?

What is the full model number of your Lenovo laptop as there are IdeaPads and Legion laptops with 16ACH in the model number and they don't use the same motherboard?

Do you have pictures of the motherboard? What brand/model laptop are we talking about?

Sounds like the circuitry for the screen.
