Can I replace a Japanese layout keyboard with an American layout one?

I bought an iBook G3 Clamshell with a Japanese layout keyboard, I'm seeing those keyboard replacement parts online, will it work with one of those American layout ones or will it have compatibility issues ?

Options

IF it fits into the top case and the connectors are the same then it should, just remember to change the input settings afterwards otherwise some keys will produce different results.
