SD Card Reader Not Working After Replacement?

Block Image
Block Image

Replaced the SD card reader in my Switch and it still doesn’t work, but the pins on the socket look fine, and I was wondering if maybe the reader I got was faulty because it clicks out just fine but makes no click when inserting, just like the one that I replaced. Is this still a socket issue or is my hunch correct?

Edit: added photos to show the socket is fine and the reader is properly connected, you can’t lift this thing and take a picture without it doing it’s own thing though, but I promise I know how and it is the way it should be.

Replaced new reader with old reader and now it works, concluding it as a dirty socket.

Any problem that involves a replacement then show different symptoms than the original problem generally point to an installation error. In the case of your reader, it might also be a bad reader. 1st verify the installation.

I have verified the socket pins are all accounted for and the socket clean, as well as have lifted the reader before screwing down to ensure that I firmly and completely connected the reader to the socket. Nothing.

Could still be a bad reader (bad replacement part) and thus the best thing to do is to return it and get yourself a new one! The SD card is all fine, I presume?
