3DS slider on PCB broke off

Block Image

After replacing the speaker cable of my 3ds and reassembling the console, I broke off this plastic piece off the 3D slider.

The 'internal' slider is still there, so using a small tool like a toothpick, I can slide it (with the top shell detached).

Since it's a real small, thin piece of plastic, I'm wondering if I can super glue something to it to make the slider work. It's such a hassle to replace the entire speaker cable just for this small piece.

Anyone's got an idea of how to fix this (easily)?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi Elise!

Hmm, I would glue something to it which is just as long as the plastic piece. I think this is the most easiest way to get it on there. Not sure what else you can do instead of replacing it.

Yeah thats what I thought. Do you think super glue would work?

Also, do you know if this can be soldered? I found a replacement piece so I dont have to replace the entire ribbon cable

Yeah super glue works. But be very careful with this! Yeah, soldering will also work! But again, be careful with this as well, it’s really fragile. If the glue doesn’t work, try to solder a new one in! Good luck!!
