Why is my phone dying in about 2 hours?

I have battery saver and dark mode on and am wondering why my phone drains when I am just browsing or playing simple games like retro bowl. It also drains fast in the background. All my software is up to date, and I have no apps that run in the background.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Your phone is about three years old now, so it's quite possible your battery is on it's last legs. As batteries age, especially if they are used heavily, the chemical reaction that powers the charge/discharge cycle begins to fail resulting in less ability to hold a full charge. It's entirely normal but can vary widely among various batteries, even on the same model of phone.

Chances are very good that replacing your battery will restore your phone's charge capacity back to what it was when it was new. iFixit has just the guide you need, giving you step by step directions for replacing it yourself.

If you want to support iFixit's repair efforts, you can buy the battery right here on this site.

If you're somewhat new to phone repair, I'd suggest the Fix Kit version; for an extra $7 USD you also get all the tools needed to do the job, along with the adhesives to glue down that battery again and seal the rear cover back on.

@dadibrokeit I was wondering if I needed to get a new metal cover, microphone adhesive, camera phone adhesive, and air vent adhesive if I repair my battery?

Or if it comes with this: Samsung Galaxy S22 Rear Cover Adhesive

Because I can not find where to buy these?

Or do I reuse them?

@matsenbrai66472 It's been my experience that iFixit guides tend to be fairly reliable in terms of specifying parts and adhesives that need replacing in the course of following their guides. Looking through your guide, I see no reason why you would need to replace the metal cover at all.

This is by no means an authoritative answer, but from my examination it appears the speaker is sealed with a rubber gasket rather than an adhesive seal, meaning it wouldn't need to be replaced when the speaker is removed.

But since I don't have one of those phones, I can't say for sure if any of the other adhesives you mention are required. Remember that your IP water resistance rating is gone once you open the phone for any reason, so that's not something you can count on again no matter how well you do the repair and seal up the phone.

If you buy the Fix Kit version of the battery, it will come with both the rear cover adhesive and the battery adhesive; otherwise neither is included if you elect to buy just the battery.
