Troubleshooting

If you are having issues with your Sony UBP-UX80 and need additional help, here is the troubleshooting page.

Background

The Sony UBP-UX80 is a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc™ Player.  The Sony UBP-UX80 (model number: UBP-UX80) was released in October 2018 and is a Blu-ray Disc™ and a regular disk player that has up to 4K resolution capabilities with the ability to connect to wifi and bluetooth to connect up to the consumers desired streaming services.  This device is pair-able with other devices through its video and audio out HDMI port, audio out HDMI port, ethernet port, and coaxial digital out port. The Blu-ray Disc™ Player comes with a remote control in order to control the player from a reasonable distance. The remote control can control all the menus, settings, features of the player, and more.

The Blu-ray Disc™ Player weighs 8.7 pounds and has a mix of gloss black with some matte black plastic exterior with an exposed metal bottom. This Blu-ray Disc™ Player can be used on anything up to a maximum of 4K resolution and a HDMI in port to go with the player's HDMI out port.

This model from Sony was standard for its time in the late 2010’s. Many models have similar looks across different brands due to most players needing the ability to be thin and fit under televisions, in the cabinets that support the televisions, or on carts with televisions on them for educational purposes. Other than software updates, no manufacturer recalls were discovered. The most known malfunction with the device is with the disk freezing up. However, other than that the device has received really good reviews and remarks regarding its reliability and value.

There are many released versions of this player. For instance this player has 4K resolution, bluetooth capabilities, and internet connection capabilities. Other players might not have the features mentioned above and a maximum resolution of 1080p.

Identification

The Sony UBP-UX80 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc™ Player has a rectangular body that is roughly 2 inches tall. It has a steel casing and plastic covers on the front and sides.
