The first thing you should try in this case is to check the LCD screen brightness settings on the camera. If the brightness setting is too low then the LCD screen will appear dim. Go into your camera settings to change the backlight brightness. Another case is that the backlight bulb is dead, thus you'll need to go disassemble the camera to first get to the bulb, and then replace it. Putting the frame back for the camera is tricky since there are multiple connections, so you have to take careful note when disassembling the camera. Our disassemble guide can offer assistance for you in this task. Another thing is that the parts have become worn or broken, in this case you will have to replace the casing.
This is a problem with the LCD screen, the screen is damaged or poorly connected thus the image on it is being distorted. In order to fix this you are going the have to first get to the screen by dissembling the camera. Then you'll check for either an improper connection or simply replace the LCD screen.
